So, at best, I think he may be able to do utility transmutations but his combat is all about the blades. It's like Ask Science, but all questions and answers are written with answers gleaned from the universe itself. I know he wasn't around for very long, but it's not really hard to show him doing an explosion here, freezing something there, etc. Maybe he had a broad range of abilities, but I feel like he would've been shown doing more things if he wasn't reliant on his blade technique. So, the shape of the circle doesn't really tell you all that much. Like Ed, Al, & Armstrong all have a triangle motif, & they all tend to focus on transmuting rock, but each of their circles is significantly different. There's a general idea that the content of the circles, especially certain symbols, relates to certain alchemy, but it's pretty broad. The fact that he can transmute so many weapons may be partly due to his elaborate transmutation circles. If that's deemed effective enough, he doesn't need anything else. The Silver Alchemist is extremely fast & agile, with an unorthodox but deadly method of fighting. Remember, the primary purpose of a State Alchemist is to be useful to the military. The "silver" would just refer to the gleam of all of his weapons.Īnd it's probably not about what he creates so much as how he fights. The names are very often not literal, like Ed is not armored nor does he particularly rely on metal, & Kimblee's name is often translated to "Crimson Lotus Alchemist" as a figurative reference to explosions, not because he creates plants. Nothing is really said about his abilities, so this is all conjecture based on context clues, but firstly, I highly doubt his weapons are actually silver because, aside from the question of how that would even work, silver is pretty shitty for weapons.
